Young at heart, and still plowing runs and taking wickets…
At the recent national veterans cricket carnival, something special happened. Club legend and life member, Michael Massey, and Melbourne Cup expert, Wayne Hawkins, who both still represent MACC in the veterans competition, got the chance to represent Victoria.
Not only did they shine throughout the tournament – Michael Massey took 5 wickets and Wayne Hawkins made 41* in the grand final – they were also able to lead their team to victory in the 3rd division of the over 50s competition held in WA.
