Junior Preseason Training Reminder

Dear Mont Albert Cricket Club Junior Families,

Just a reminder that pre-season training for U10, U12 and U14 teams begins this coming Sunday the 1st of September 9-11am. We are aware that it is Father’s Day but what a great excuse to get out of the house and get the cricket season started!

Pre-season training program:

All sessions are at Mont Albert Reserve, 9.00am-11.00am

  1. Sunday 1st September
  2. *Sunday 8th September (compulsory for u12’s – grading)
  3. *Sunday 15th September (compulsory for u12’s – grading)
  4. Sunday 22nd September
  5. Sunday 29th September

*Thank you to those families who have sent messages of availability for these sessions.  Both Andrew Padbury & I will have ample time to conduct our pre-season team planning.

These sessions will not be a drop and run session.  These sessions will be a good opportunity for Dani & myself to reacquaint with you all & talk through the season ahead.  Also, these sessions could well require the assistance of parents in a coaching or supervising capacity.  At this stage, please be aware that the clubrooms will not be open so there will be no access to toilets. There is a water fountain available.

The first game is scheduled for Saturday 12th October (u14’s will start Friday 11th October).  Normal training will commence the week commencing Monday 7th October.

Training nights:

  • U10’s Monday 5.00pm-6.30pm @ MACC
  • U12’s Friday 5.00pm-6.30pm @ MACC
  • U14’s Wednesday 5.00pm-6.30pm @ MACC

All junior players are required to wear a white MACC playing polo top this season. You can currently purchase these white club tops at a discounted price on our website.  Next season (2020/21) we will be transitioning to coloured club polo tops that can also be purchased on the website from now and be worn as training tops this season and then be worn for game day next season.

We will update you with any further information as soon as possible (coaches/team managers etc). Both Dani & I will be attending the Eastern Cricket Association AGM this Tuesday.  We’re sure to have further junior player info post meeting.

Also, for all the junior cricketers participating in basketball this summer, please remember to register for afternoon basketball games only, so avoiding any clashes on Saturday mornings.
