Dear Mont Albert Cricket Club Junior Families, Carers and Players,
Post the Victorian Governments announcements on Sunday (18th Oct), there is hope that we will soon be able to commence community sport once again.
What we know so far for cricket:
From what we are hearing today (Monday 19th October), Cricket Victoria/ECA is pushing for the Junior cricket season to commence on Friday the 6th of November as planned. This means that we may get next week for training or four days prior to starting. This also hinges on Whitehorse Council providing Club Permits for ground and clubhouse use; so all we can do is wait and see what is announced either next Sunday the 25th of October or Sunday the 1st of November pending Covid-19 progress. We will let you know as the situation is updated.
We are waiting on further information as to when Woolworths Blast and Master Blast cricket will commence.
So we need to be ready to go. What can we do now as a Junior Cricket Club?

We ask that you please register your child/children now so that we know they are playing, so that you can make the required $5 insurance payment and pay for your registration.
Re registration costs we please ask that you contact Howard or Dani should you need to talk about registration payment as the club is more than happy to discuss part payment/payment plans with you. Our goal is to ensure that all our children can join in community sport with their friends and peers this Summer and we are here to support you.

As discussed last season, to bring us in line with other Victorian Clubs and our Seniors, the Juniors are transitioning to navy club tops this season.
This season, we are recommending that apparel is purchased through the purchase windows below to ensure timely delivery. We apologise for this convenience. At this stage, we cannot guarantee the delivery time for items being delivered to your home.
If you have already purchased an items for home delivery, it will be collated with the bulk orders below and sent to the club for collection.
Have your clothing delivered to the club for collection during the below times
By selecting “collect in store” at checkout during the purchase windows below, orders will be bulk delivered to the club, significantly decreasing postage costs incurred by members. In 2020-21, we will run two apparel purchase windows.
Please note that if you purchase items in the second window, delivery before the commencement of the season is not guaranteed. Also, clothing will only be available for collection between the times provided below.
Purchase window 1 – Thursday 8th October to 11pm on Wednesday 28th October
- Collection at Mont Albert club rooms on 05/11/20 & 12/11/20 from 6:30pm to 8pm. Please call ahead.
Purchase window 2 – Thursday 29th October to 11pm on Wednesday 4th November
- Collection at Mont Albert club rooms on 12/11/20 & 19/11/20 from 6:30pm to 8pm

If new uniforms run late we will just ask you to wear a white top until the new uniforms arrive.
- Training:
At this stage training days will be as follows:
U10 Mondays 4.30-6pm
U12’s Fridays 4.30-6pm
U14’s Wednesday’s 4.30-6pm
Last season’s Coaches and Team Managers will be having a Zoom COVID Safety meeting this Friday the 23rd where we will discuss training sessions further, as we will need to ensure that we adhere to COVID safety rules and regulations and so sessions may need to be staggered etc according to how many players we are allowed to have on the oval etc. We will keep you up to date and a COVID Safety information session will be held via zoom for all the Junior Club prior to commencing the season (probably next week!).
Team Managers and coaches will also be confirmed.
So get your uniform and cricket bag ready with hand sanitiser, sunscreen, jumper, hat, drink bottle, snack and an umbrella and coat as it always seems to rain at the start of the cricket season!
