Get exited everyone! Cricket is penciled in to return on the 06/11/2020 for Juniors and the 14/11/2020 for Seniors. This is subject to changes depending on what happens over the next few weeks in Melbourne. But, at least we have something to work towards. Below are some important updates about our COVID-19 planning to ensure we all stay safe this summer (key webpages, contacts and policies), registrations (how the club is working to support cricket participation irrespective of members’ current financial circumstances) and apparel (purchase windows and new gear).

COVID-19 and Return to Play

Over the last few months, Cricket Victoria have been supporting all Victorian clubs with planning for a safe return to cricket. This has involved the development of a COVID-19 Safety Plan, that MACC has adopted. This plan clearly guides clubs through the steps required to ensure that we are COVID-ready for the start of the cricket season and ensures that we maintain a COVID-safe environment at MACC throughout the 2020/21 cricket season.

All of our COVID-19 info can be found at the following location: CLICK HERE

Included at the above webpage is our COVID-19 Safety Plan.

It is imperative that all members and their families familiarise themselves with this document. Returning to cricket safely and successfully is dependent on us all working together.

This policy will likely be updated between now and the start of the season, so stay tuned for any announcements regarding that. It is also quite extensive so the information will not be repeated in this current communication.

Your two COVID-19 Safety Officers at MACC are:

Dani Hedley (Juniors) and Kiel Johnsen (Seniors) – covid19@montalbertcc.com.au

Our COVID-19 Safety Officers have both completed COVID-19 e-learning course and have been working together to put into place the COVID-19 Safety Plan for MACC. This training will also be completed by the MACC Committee, Senior Captains and Coaches, Junior Coaches, Team Managers and those in roles of responsibility in the club. But we encourage as many players, parents and all of you in the MACC Community to complete the course so that we can all join in the effort to keep our club COVID-safe.

The course is available HERE

We are also organising the purchase of hand sanitiser/wipes/signage, and discussing cleaning protocols and clubhouse use. This will of course be guided by the COVID-19 situation at the time, Victorian Government, Hospitality Regulations and Whitehorse Council.

We will also have an online forum as close to the start of the season to disseminate key information. But again, we encourage you to read the MACC COVID-19 Safety Plan first.

As Victorians, we are well versed in COVID-19 safety, which will help us all as we plan for a return to cricket. There will be specific rules we will have to follow when the season starts, but if it allows us to get out and play sport and stay COVID-safe, our efforts will be worth it.

As Cricket Victoria state, ”Cricket in a pandemic is a privilege”

So let’s make sure we respect COVID-19 safety so that we can get all our cricketers out playing sport again, and enjoy being with each other and our community.

If you have any COVID-19 related enquiries, concerns or COVID-19 related situations, Dani and Kiel can be contacted via email: covid19@montalbertcc.com.au. Contact information is also available at the following link – COVID-19.

Registration

With the latest announcements regarding COVID-19 restrictions, we now have proposed dates for the start of the 2020-21 season.

As such, registrations are now open for all junior and senior players.

Given the unprecedented circumstances of this period of COVID-19, we understand some players and their families may be facing financial difficulties. We are committed to ensuring that everyone gets an opportunity to participate in cricket in 2020-21, irrespective of your personal or financial circumstances.  If you are unable to pay the registration fee, please select the “Pay Offline” option on the registration link and get in contact with Luke Galtieri (galtiel95@gmail.com or 0433 403 051) or another KEY CONTACT who will be able to assist you with a suitable arrangement (all arrangements will be confidential). All arrangements will be considered (e.g. paying in installments, part payment or no payment), so please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our goal in 2020/21 is to welcome every player and family back to our club.

Apparel

As you will be aware, our juniors are shifting to coloured shirts in 2020-21 (with white cricket pants). Our new coloured shirts are available on our online store labeled “Season 2020/21 Mont Albert Junior Playing Shirt”. Please note that adult sizes (e.g. XS, S, M & L) are available under the following label “Season 2020/21 Mont Albert Junior Playing Shirt (XS, S, M & L)”. Please consider the labels carefully as this design is similar, but slightly different, to the senior training shirt.

Because we are making this transition this season, there will be one to two weeks grace period to allow for new shirts to be purchased. Again, if you are having any financial difficulties, please contact someone from the club – CLICK HERE for our Key Contacts.

Similar to last season, there are two ways to receive your MACC apparel in 2020-21.

Option 1 – Have your clothing delivered straight to your door

You can do this by selecting “home delivery” at checkout. This option is always available and is the fastest and easiest way to receive your MACC gear. It is also the recommended option given the current COVID-19 pandemic. This will incur a postage fee and delivery is typically 2-4 days.

Option 2 – Have your clothing delivered to the club for collection during the below times

By selecting “collect in store” at checkout during the purchase windows below, orders will be bulk delivered to the club, significantly decreasing postage costs incurred by members. In 2020-21, we will run two apparel purchase windows.

Please note that if you purchase items in the second window, delivery before the commencement of the season is not guaranteed. Also, clothing will only be available for collection between the times provided below.

Purchase window 1 – Thursday 8th October to 11pm on Wednesday 28th October

  • Collection at Mont Albert club rooms on 05/11/20 & 12/11/20 from 6:30pm to 8pm. Please call ahead.

Purchase window 2 – Thursday 29th October to 11pm on Wednesday 4th November

  • Collection at Mont Albert club rooms on 12/11/20 & 19/11/20 from 6:30pm to 8pm

Looking forward to seeing everyone out on the track this season.
