With the lead up to “the real” round 1, MACC are excited to announce our new recruits for 2022-23.
At the top of our list of local recruits is Tyson Freeman (pictured above at senior training on Saturday 1/10) who is the son of former First XI captain – Mark Freeman. Tyson brings a wealth of experience as an allrounder for district cricket club Ringwood CC, and will add extra support to club coach Mark Simpson throughout season 2022-23 as he adds valuable coaching to the 3rds, 4ths, 5ths and 6ths XIs. We also welcome another son of a gun in Rhys Hayes-Rosario (son of former First XI Premiership Player Lenny). Rhys joins MACC from Ferntree Gully Cricket Club.
In addition, we are also welcoming two young lads from the UK – Charlie Parker and Ben Chapman-Lilley (no relation to the great Alex Lilley). Charlie is an excellent seam bowler and serviceable batter who hails from Yorkshire in England. Ben hails from Warwickshire where in 2022 he played as a top order batsman in the Warwickshire County Second XI.
