Vale Peter Young

Mont Albert CC would like to extend its deepest condolences to the Young family following the passing of former member and player, Peter Young.

Peter tragically passed away earlier this week, and will be sorely missed by family, friends and former team mates.

Peter played 41 games for MACC between 1984 and 1992. He scored 596 runs from 55 innings, and he took 15 wickets. Life Member Hal Jones, who played with Peter in the 80s, described Peter as “enthusiastic and vocal” on the cricket field. He added Peter was “the voice of the team.”

Following his time at MACC, Peter went on to develop quite a reputation for expertly navigating challenging situations in his role as General Manager of Public Affairs at Cricket Australia. For a detailed account of all of his achievements at CA, which were many, Click Here.
