Senior Training Update

  • by

It was great to get back into training on Saturday morning. Well done to the 30 or so who braved a cold and drizzly morning to get along for a really productive session.

Find below the training plan for this week and key training dates/ information for the weeks ahead.

TRAINING THIS WEEK
As of this week we are able to get into our usual rhythm of Tuesday/ Thursday evening trainings.

The official start time will be 5:30, but those who can make it earlier are welcome to get the nets set up and get some extra work in.

The session plan for this week will continue Saturday’s focus on the basics (bowling tight lines, maintaining balance, playing straight and getting some balls back in the hands) and can be found here.

KEY DATES
A few key dates to be aware of in addition to our regular Tuesdays/ Thursdays in the weeks ahead:

SATURDAY 30 OCTOBER: 9:30am nets and fielding

MONDAY 2 NOVEMBER (Melbourne Cup Eve): We will train on Cup Eve INSTEAD OF the Public Holiday Tuesday. This session will start at 4:30 for those who can make it and we will finish at 6:30pm in time for an official Cup Eve Function kicking off at 7pm.

SATURDAY 6 and SUNDAY 7 NOVEMBER: We have access to the centre wicket at Mont Albert Reserve and will aim to have an intraclub match/ centre wicket session for the 1st and 2nd XIs on the Saturday, and for the 3rd, 4th and 5th XIs on the Sunday. Details TBC but assume it will be similar to normal fixtured hours of play

TUESDAY 9 NOVEMBER: Training from 5:30 as usual but we will have a hard close at 7:30 and spend about an hour as a club finalising our Player Values and Behaviours following the survey that many of you completed recently.

SATURDAY 13 NOVEMBER: Round 1 (TBC!)
