First XI Captaincy

  • by

As many of you will be aware, at the completion of the 2020-21 season, Jack Joslin informed the club of his intention to step away from the captaincy, whilst continuing on in a playing capacity only. Jack took on the role as captain in 2013-14, leading the first XI to the finals in 5 seasons, including the 2017-18 season where MACC won the Dunstan premiership. We owe a great debt to Jack and wish to formally thank him for his service to MACC.

This brings with it a great opportunity for others to step up and take on more responsibility. After the club’s first formal selection process in living memory, MACC are excited to announce that Andrew Padbury (pictured right) will be the First XI Captain for season 2021-22. Andrew brings a wealth of playing and leadership experience to the role, and is highly driven to bring a more attacking style to the way we approach our cricket in the ones. Congratulations Andrew.

We are also excited to announce that Andrew will be joined by James Guley (pictured left), who has accepted the Vice Captaincy role for 2021-22. James is also highly driven to bring a new style of play to the team and the club are anticipating a strong working relationship between the two lifelong MACC stalwarts.

Go Monts!
