U10 Blues

The u10’s Blue had a very convincing win over an inexperienced Richmond Union White at Alan Bain Reserve.

After winning the toss & electing to bowl, MACC started strongly with a stream of wickets. The first year RU team tried their best under the pressure of some very good straight bowling by our boys. All bowlers contributed with the ball, who were brilliantly supported in the field – bowling performances of note included Ollie Groves, Loki Fahl, James Graham, Aidan Tribe & Jonathan Borrello. The words ‘walking in boys’ was constantly called out by our on-field leaders. Ring field backing up at both ends & a solid performance by Alex Bertus behind the stumps restricted RU to a very moderate score.

With the bat it was all out attack from ball one. I liked the persistence of our boys to stick to our game plan (limit outs) regardless of the high rate of opportunities to score. Again some excellent contributions were from all boys. Special note to Ollie Groves (solid all-round game) Patrick Gleeson (patience personified & great concentration), Jonathan Borrello, Alex Bertus, Aidan Tribe, Loki Fahl & James Ferris who all showed great ability & development with the bat.

The result was that MACC u10’s Blue had a 100+ run victory. Bring on next game!

GO MONTS!

U12C

The 12C’s suffered a large loss against ladder leaders Balwyn.  We bowled first and with the promotion of our star bowler and batsman Aadhi, to the 12B’s we needed a lift from all  our team.  We saw a promotion up the bowling order to Lucas Kormas and he  did not dissapoint with a great wicket early.  Zach Burley looked great with the ball too, taking two wickets in his first over.  The fielding was much sharper and I thought we could chase the total.  The Balwyn bowling was far too good with our boys giving  their  wickets away in the pursuit of  runs.  We had a staunch batting partnership between Cam (50+ balls faced) and Lucas K, (20+ balls faced).   The next lesson for the  C’s is about running  between the wickets and defence!
